Pookot Lake
: 13 Kms
It is a natural fresh water lake, surrounded with evergreen rain forest. There is a fresh water aquarium & a green house here. Boating facilities are available here. Pookot Lake is one of the most sought after tourist spots in Wayanad & a big hit with family crowd. Once you visit this place you are bound to agree with this term.

Edakkal Caves : 27 Kms.
Edakkal caves in the Ambukuthy Mountains are not caves in the right sense. It is only a cleft in reality. It is a cleft of about 96 ft.long & 22 ft. wide in the rock. There are some interesting carvings of pre-historic age. This location is of breath taking beauty. Once you visit this place you are bound to agree with this term.

| Soochipara Waterfalls : 25 Kms.
Soochipara waterfalls are really treasures of nature. Alight from your drive & take a one km. walk into the dense equatorial forest of Wayanad . You will discover nature at its thundering best. Soochipara is 3 tiered powerful waterfalls. The cliff face here is ideal for rock-climbing, but for true professional only.

Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary : 35 kms.
This sanctuary is located very near to the Karnataka border. Wild forests covering an area of 345 sq.mts. Form Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary, the biggest abode of wild animals in the entire Malabar region. Elephants, Spotted Deers, Bisons, Tigers, Wild Bears….etc. are sighted here.

| Kuruwa Dweep : 35 km
955 acres of thick green forest along the banks of the tributaries of east flowing Kabani river forms Kuruwa Dweep or island. This island is totally uninhabited. This isolated area is an ideal picnic spot. Kuruwa dweep is a paradise for exotic birds. Enjoy the sights of different birds and learn about their nesting habits and mating calls. Angling, Trekking, Swimming and Exotic birds watching could all be done here. An ideal place for camping out at night. A must see destination in Wayanad.

Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary : 62 kms.(27 kms. From Kuruwa Dweep)
This is another popular wildlife sanctuary in Wayanad. You can find here Spotted Deer, Elephants, Bison, Leopards…etc., or the greatest hunter of them all – Tiger, the big cat. jeep safari is allowed inside & a big hit with tourists.

Thirunelly Temple : 62 kms.(27 kms.From Kuruwa dweep)
This is known as “Thekkan Kasi” or “Dakshin Kasi”. It is firmly believed that a dip in the river Papanasini, running crystal clear downhill, washes away one's sins.
Timings :- 6:00a.m to 12:30p.m & 5:30p.m to 7:30p.m
